Job Description

HealthCare is hiring a senior software engineer to build and improve its healthcare SaaS platform for Medicare care-management programs, including CCM, RPM, RTM, PCM, TCM, BHI, and Annual Wellness Visits. The platform supports patient and provider workflows, EHR integrations, documentation, billing, and reimbursement.

We need engineers who have built healthcare applications connected to EHR systems and who can take responsibility for getting their code through testing and deployment. Experience with public-health data or large-scale analytics alone will not meet the EHR requirement. Working alongside a DevOps team is valuable, but candidates must also have direct, hands-on CI/CD experience.

What you’ll do

Develop C#/.NET applications, APIs, and services for patient management, care coordination, eligibility, time capture, claims, billing, reconciliation, and reporting.

Build and maintain integrations with EHR platforms such as Epic, athenahealth, AdvancedMD, eClinicalWorks, or NextGen. Work with HL7 v2, FHIR APIs, and CCD/C-CDA to exchange clinical data, manage synchronization, and resolve patient-matching or interface issues.

Translate CMS requirements and CPT-based billing rules into tested software workflows, audit controls, and accurate reimbursement processes.

Contribute directly to CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, deployments, release troubleshooting, and production support. Help improve the reliability and security of a healthcare platform handling protected health information.

Use approved AI coding tools, such as Claude Code, Cursor, Augment Code, or GitHub Copilot, to support development while maintaining code review, testing, security, and engineering accountability.

Work with Product, Clinical Operations, Billing, and Engineering to make design decisions, mentor other developers, and improve the team’s software delivery practices.

What you need

8+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years building healthcare software applications.

Strong hands-on C#, .NET Core or ASP.NET Core, REST API, and SQL Server or MySQL experience.

Direct experience building or maintaining an EHR integration. You should be able to explain the EHR involved, the data exchanged, the interoperability method used, the code you owned, and how you handled failures or data-quality issues.

Hands-on CI/CD experience. You should be able to explain a pipeline you built, changed, or troubleshot, including its build, test, and deployment steps. Familiarity with a pipeline managed entirely by another team is not sufficient for this role.

Experience with healthcare billing, claims, patient eligibility, provider workflows, or revenue cycle processes, including practical knowledge of CPT-based billing and CMS reimbursement rules.

Experience with cloud applications on Azure or AWS, microservices, Git-based development, automated testing, and secure handling of healthcare data.

Experience using at least one AI coding tool in a real development workflow, with sound judgment about reviewing and testing its output.

Especially relevant experience

Direct work on CCM, RPM, RTM, or other Medicare care-management products; care coordination or patient engagement platforms; healthcare billing systems; or software used by provider organizations, MSOs, ACOs, or care-management vendors. Entity Framework, message queues, event-driven systems, Docker, Kubernetes, and AI-enabled clinical workflows are also valuable.
