The Role

• Operate heavy machinery, including hostlers, top loaders, side loaders, and cranes, to move shipping containers within an intermodal yard.
• Load and unload containers from railcars and trucks, ensuring accuracy and safety.
• Drive hostlers to precisely position containers and chassis within the yard.
• Conduct thorough pre- and post-operation equipment inspections to maintain safety standards.
• Collaborate with yard personnel and supervisors to coordinate daily logistics operations.
• Adhere to established safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure work environment.

What You'll Need

• A valid driver's license is mandatory for this position.
• Previous experience operating heavy equipment in a logistics or industrial setting is preferred.
• A strong commitment to safety and keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50lbs.
• Basic communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Availability for night shifts (2nd or 3rd shift), with scheduling determined by union seniority.
