Location: The Woodlands, TX / Little Rock, AR / Jackson, MS (3 days/week onsite)
Job Description:
We are seeking a RF Specialist Technician with hands-on experience configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting Radio Frequency (RF) data transport technologies and wireless data networks. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in RF communications, wireless networking, equipment configuration, and field troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, install, maintain, and troubleshoot RF data transport equipment and wireless communication networks.
- Support RF radios, antennas, modems, wireless access points, and related communication infrastructure.
- Configure wireless network parameters, RF channels, frequencies, IP addressing, and network connectivity.
- Perform RF signal testing, coverage validation, link analysis, and basic interference troubleshooting.
- Monitor network and RF equipment performance and resolve connectivity, signal, and communication issues.
- Troubleshoot hardware, firmware, configuration, and network-related problems using appropriate diagnostic tools.
- Perform equipment upgrades, firmware updates, replacements, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Assist with RF network deployments, expansions, site installations, and equipment commissioning.
- Work with network and engineering teams to troubleshoot complex RF and wireless communication issues.
- Maintain technical documentation, equipment configurations, network diagrams, test results, and maintenance records.
- Follow established safety, security, change-management, and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications
- 3 6 years of experience supporting RF, wireless communications, telecommunications, or data networking environments, with hands-on expertise in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting RF data transport technologies, wireless networks, radios, modems, antennas, and related network equipment.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, basic routing, and RF fundamentals including frequency, bandwidth, signal strength, interference, modulation, and link performance.
- Experience with point-to-point and point-to-multipoint RF systems, licensed and unlicensed RF technologies, RF site surveys, antenna installation, grounding, cabling, and transmission-line systems.
- Proficiency with RF and network diagnostic, testing, monitoring, and management tools, with the ability to interpret network diagrams, RF documentation, equipment manuals, and technical specifications.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with engineering, network, and field operations teams.
- Relevant RF, wireless, networking, or telecommunications certifications are a plus.
- Comfortable working in a combination of field and technical support environments, including travel to remote communication sites and occasional after-hours support for maintenance, outages, or critical network issues.
