Role: Senior Project Manager

Location: London / York / Peterborough – 3 days per week onsite

Role Type: 10 months

Salary: Depending on experience

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager with strong rail Project/rail industry experience, ideally with an engineering background and experience delivering electrical safety, standards, infrastructure, or technology implementation projects.

Essential experience:

• Previous Rail project delivery experience.
• Strong understanding of Rail project management processes and governance.
• Experience managing engineering/project teams, ideally supporting a small team of engineers.
• Understanding/appreciation of 25kV OLE isolations is important.
• Experience delivering standards implementation and/or engineering change within Rail.
• Strong project planning experience covering time, cost, resources and deliverables.
• Experience with project reporting and financial reporting.
• Experience in risk management, governance, procurement and efficiency controls.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including working across regional and central Rail teams.
• Experience tracking competence/skills changes and coordinating implementation across teams.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and establish clear priorities

The successful candidate will support several Electrical Safety Delivery workstreams, including:

• SAI25 implementation
• SAI750 implementation
• SAI25000 development
• Capex Works / NSCDs
• Remote Securing implementation
• Optimized Earthing development
• Electrical Safety Culture

The role will involve post-implementation review of SAI25 standards changes, developing project plans, monitoring cost/time, periodic project and finance reporting, efficiency reviews, risk and governance management, stakeholder communication and coordinating queries across regional teams.
