Role: AI & Azure Modernisation Lead / Project Manager
Location: Manassas, VA – (Onsite)
Full-Time role

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced AI & Azure Modernisation Lead / Project Manager to lead enterprise technology modernisation initiatives, focusing on Microsoft Azure cloud transformation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and application modernisation. The ideal candidate will have a strong combination of technical expertise, project management experience, and leadership skills to drive complex modernisation projects from planning through execution and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage enterprise AI and Azure cloud modernisation projects from initiation to completion.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, resource allocations, and delivery strategies.
  • Drive cloud migration and application modernisation initiatives using Microsoft Azure.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate AI, Generative AI, and automation into existing business processes and applications.
  • Collaborate with technical teams, architects, developers, business stakeholders, and senior leadership.
  • Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee Azure cloud architecture, migration strategies, infrastructure transformation, and application upgrades.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to business requirements.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular status reports to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Lead Agile/Scrum ceremonies and ensure effective coordination across cross-functional teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement, governance, and best practices across modernisation initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience leading AI and Microsoft Azure modernization initiatives.
  • Proven experience in project management, program management, or technical delivery leadership.
  • Hands-on understanding of Microsoft Azure cloud services and cloud migration strategies.
  • Experience with AI/ML, Generative AI, and enterprise AI implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of application modernization, cloud transformation, and enterprise architecture.
  • Experience managing large-scale IT projects and cross-functional technical teams.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, strategic planning, and decision-making abilities.

Preferred Skills

  • Microsoft Azure certifications (Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or related).
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, or Scrum Master certification.
  • Experience with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Services, and AI-driven automation.
  • Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud governance.
  • Experience managing enterprise digital transformation programs.
