Position Title:
Associate Art Director
Summary:
As Associate Art Director, you will shape and execute the visual identity of Alexander Wang across all channels—from digital and social to print and experiential activations. You will partner closely with Creative Leadership to translate directional brand vision into compelling seasonal campaigns, product launches, and storytelling that drives both brand prestige and commercial results. This role demands a highly creative, detail-oriented individual with a sophisticated understanding of fashion, digital-first thinking, and design systems. You will conceive, design, and deliver elevated creative solutions that reflect Alexander Wang's forward-thinking aesthetic and innovative approach to visual communication.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and execute compelling creative concepts across integrated platforms—digital, social, print, and experiential. Partner with Creative Leadership to translate brand vision into cohesive seasonal campaigns and storytelling that articulate product narratives and brand positioning.
- Lead the design and production of high-impact assets across all channels including social media, e-commerce, email, web, and marketing collateral. Ensure consistency and excellence in typography, layout, and brand identity across every touchpoint.
- Conceive and oversee the creative production of lookbooks, runway/show projects, and seasonal content from concept through execution. Collaborate with photographers, stylists, production teams, and external vendors to bring directional creative vision to life.
- Support the development of digital experiences including website strategy, e-commerce storytelling, and UI/UX considerations. Partner with digital teams to review layouts and optimize visual impact across desktop and mobile platforms.
- Manage production design and visual assets for product launches, brand campaigns, retail activations, and special projects—including packaging graphics, mailers, in-store/outdoor visuals, and print collateral.
- Contribute to the evolution and refinement of brand identity systems, including logo treatments, typography, graphic systems, and visual language that keep Alexander Wang at the forefront of creative excellence.
- Stay informed on fashion, design, and digital trends—including emerging tools, platforms, and technologies that can enhance creative execution and storytelling. Bring forward-thinking perspectives to elevate brand visual innovation.

In compliance with the New York City salary transparency requirements, the potential salary for this position is from $125,000 to $130,000, which represents a range commensurate with experience, knowledge, and skills required.
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in high-end fashion, beauty, lifestyle, or creative agency/in-house environment.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating sophisticated creative thinking, campaign strategy, and flawless execution across digital and print media.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and video editing tools (Final Cut Pro, Premiere, or similar).
- Expert understanding of typography, layout, color theory, and visual storytelling that elevates brand presence and drives engagement.
- Proven experience designing across e-commerce, social media, campaign-driven environments, and digital-first platforms.
- Familiarity with emerging digital tools, design platforms, and AI-assisted design technologies—with openness to exploring innovative approaches to visual storytelling and content creation.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with ability to translate creative direction into actionable design solutions.
- Strong project management capabilities—ability to balance multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced, design-driven environment.
