Apply now to join a growing, ambitious team and contribute to the future of aerospace technology.
Quick Overview
Job Description
Aerodynamics Engineer – Advanced Aerospace Technology
Location: Bath
Full-time | Early-stage technology company | Equity available
An ambitious aerospace technology company is looking for an Aerodynamics Engineer to join a small, highly technical team developing a new generation of autonomous aircraft systems.
This is an opportunity to take genuine ownership of aerodynamic design rather than working on one small part of a much larger programme. You’ll be involved in shaping aircraft performance from first principles, using CFD and simulation to inform design decisions and then validating that work against real prototypes and test data.
The role would suit someone who enjoys moving between theory, simulation and practical engineering, and who wants to see their work have a direct influence on the aircraft being built.
What you’ll be working on
- Aerodynamic analysis and performance modelling
- CFD-led design and optimisation
- Propeller / rotor aerodynamic development
- Lift, drag, stability and performance trade-offs
- Correlating simulation with physical test data
- Supporting rapid design iterations and prototype development
- Working closely with engineers across the wider aircraft system
- Helping define the aerodynamic direction of future aircraft designs
What we’re looking for
You’ll ideally have a strong academic (leading university) or commercial background in Aerodynamics, Aerospace Engineering or a closely related discipline, alongside experience with some combination of:
- CFD
- Aircraft aerodynamics
- Propeller or rotor aerodynamics
- Aeroacoustics
- UAV / small-aircraft design
- Low Reynolds number aerodynamics
- Wind-tunnel, bench or flight-test correlation
- First-principles aerodynamic analysis
More important than ticking every box is strong engineering judgement, curiosity and the ability to solve difficult problems where there isn’t always an obvious answer.
Why consider it?
This is a genuinely early-stage opportunity where you’ll have considerably more influence than you would typically get within a large aerospace organisation.
You’ll work closely with an experienced technical leadership team, have direct access to prototypes and testing, and be able to see your aerodynamic decisions translate into real hardware.
For someone who wants to combine serious technical work with the pace, ownership and variety of an early-stage engineering company, this is a rare opportunity.
Competitive package including equity.
