Aerospace Technician
Location: Santa Barbara, California (On-site)
Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Aerospace Technician to support the assembly, integration, and testing of next-generation observation satellites. This is a manufacturing role focused on building and validating spacecraft hardware in a fast-paced aerospace environment. The assignment is onsite and requires candidates who can become productive quickly with limited ramp-up.
Key Responsibilities

• Assemble and test spacecraft components and subsystems.
• Support spacecraft manufacturing operations and production builds.
• Maintain and improve manufacturing and test infrastructure.
• Partner with engineers to develop and document test procedures.
• Create and maintain assembly documentation and test reports.
• Assist with the design and fabrication of test fixtures and tooling.
• Support continuous process improvement initiatives.
• Review bills of materials, drawings, and work instructions to determine required parts and dimensions.
• Handle and assemble small parts while maintaining workmanship, accuracy, and production documentation.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in aerospace, manufacturing, military, or automotive environments.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Experience using torque wrenches, calipers, gauges, fixtures, and tooling.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Manual dexterity and ability to work with small, delicate components.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3-5+ years assembling complex electro-mechanical systems.
• Experience with spacecraft hardware.
• Wire harnessing experience.
• Experience with moving mechanical assemblies.
• Startup or small-team manufacturing experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Self-directed and able to work toward project goals with minimal oversight.
• Engineering-related certifications.
