Assistant Project Manager
Location: Western Isles / Glasgow, Inverness or Perth
Contract: 12 months initially
Rate: £550 – £600 per day
Turner Lovell is recruiting an Assistant Project Manager to support the Western Isles HVDC Link Project as part of the Pathway to 2030 program. You will support the delivery of a £500m+ civil and building package, working closely with the Project Manager, site delivery team and key supply chain partners. This is a highly site-focused role offering exposure to major construction delivery, NEC contract management and complex stakeholder interfaces.
Key responsibilities:
· Support delivery of a major civil and building works package.
· Monitor contractor performance across program, quality, safety and site progress.
· Support project controls, reporting, risk registers and issue tracking.
· Assist with NEC3 contract administration, including early warnings, change management and compensation events.
· Coordinate interfaces between contractors, designers and project stakeholders.
· Promote strong construction safety standards in line with SSE requirements.
We are looking for:
· Experience within civil engineering, construction or major infrastructure projects, ideally in a site-based role.
· Good understanding of construction health & safety and CDM 2015.
· Familiarity with NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts and project delivery processes.
· Strong coordination, communication and stakeholder management skills.
The role can be based from Glasgow, Inverness or Perth, with frequent travel to the Western Isles during pre-construction. Once construction begins, the expectation is to spend much of the working week on site in Lewis, with rotational arrangements where applicable.
The initial contract is for 12 months, with the wider program expected to require support through to 2030, paying £550 – £600 per day.
