Senior Data Migration Engineer (Top Secret) with Security Clearance

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Data Migration Engineer to support a data migration project for the FBI in Huntsville, AL. The team is seeking an engineer with expertise architecting, operating, validating, and optimizing data migration pipelines for a critical project. Applications for this job will be accepted for at least 30 days from the posting date Responsibilities of the Data Migration Engineer:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to support large-scale data migration initiatives.
• Build and optimize extraction, transformation, and loading processes for structured and unstructured data sources.
• Develop automated workflows that maximize performance, reliability, scalability, and error recovery.
• Ensure pipeline architectures align with cloud modernization strategies and landing zone standards.
• Collaborate with Cloud Engineers, Data Engineers, DevSecOps teams, DBAs, QA/Test Engineers, and Product Owners to support migration objectives.
• Ensure seamless integration of ETL processes with cloud infrastructure, data models, monitoring platforms, and downstream applications.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including data mappings, workflow diagrams, transformation specifications, SOPs, and issue logs.

Qualifications of the Data Migration Engineer:

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 8+ years of data engineering, ETL development, and large scale migrations
• Active Top Secret clearance
• Strong experience with ETL tools, automation frameworks (Python, Powershell, Bash), and high volume data pipelines.
• Experience with legacy system extraction, cloud ingestion, and multi format data transformation
• Ability to operate in a fast past environment
• Experience operating ETL pipelines within AWS or other cloud environment Compensation of the Data Migration Engineer:
• Total compensation based on experience level - $155,000-$175,000+ **based on experience level and total years of experience**
