Job description

Tutor Me Education is reshaping how students learn, and we're looking for experienced academic tutors to provide 1:1 and small group virtual instruction to students across the country. If you're passionate about supporting students with IEPs, 504 plans, and diverse learning needs — and you want the flexibility to build a schedule around your life — we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll do:

  • Deliver engaging, individualized virtual instruction tailored to each student's goals, accommodations, and learning profile
  • Create structured lesson plans that align with student goals, grade-level standards, and the specific accommodations or modifications each student requires
  • Adapt instruction in real time based on student questions, progress, and engagement
  • Track student progress and communicate effectively with families and, where applicable, school district partners

About Tutor Me Education

We're a tutoring and test-preparation platform connecting qualified educators with families and school districts nationwide. Our tutors choose the jobs that fit their expertise and schedule, and our growing partnerships with school districts mean a steady pipeline of meaningful work — especially in special education, where demand continues to outpace supply.

Requirements

  • Experience tutoring or teaching students across a mix of K-12 grade bands
  • Ability to tutor across core K-12 subjects
  • Ability to design and deliver lesson plans aligned to student needs
  • Strong virtual instruction skills — comfort with video conferencing and digital whiteboards
  • At least 1 year of experience working directly with both families and school districts in a tutoring or special education setting
  • Reliable computer, internet connection, webcam, and quiet workspace suitable for remote tutoring

Preferred (not required):

  • Bachelor's degree, ideally in Education, Psychology, or a related field
  • Experience working with students who have learning disabilities, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, or other special education needs
  • Familiarity with IEPs, 504 plans, and common accommodations
  • Active or previous teaching credential, especially in Special Education
  • Experience with specific methodologies such as Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading, or structured literacy
  • Fluent in Spanish and English
  • Availability during Pacific Time hours is a plus
  • Flexible schedule — work when you want
  • 100% remote
  • Competitive hourly rate of 18-26 USD
  • Consistent flow of students matched to your expertise
