Job Description

We're looking for a Senior Health & Safety / CDM Consultant to join our growing QHSE/CDM team in London and Birmingham. This is an opportunity for an experienced professional to take ownership of a varied portfolio of projects, provide expert advice to clients and help shape the continued growth of our Health & Safety and CDM offering.

Working with leading investors, developers, occupiers and asset managers across the commercial property sector, you'll deliver high-quality CDM and Principal Designer services while collaborating with our wider multidisciplinary teams across Building Surveying, Project Management and Engineering.

This role would suit someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with client engagement and is looking to develop long-term relationships while delivering practical, commercially focused advice.

The role:

As a Senior Health & Safety / CDM Consultant, you'll take a leading role in the delivery of Health & Safety and CDM services across a broad range of commercial property and construction projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a diverse portfolio of Health & Safety and CDM commissions across commercial, industrial, residential and mixed-use developments.

  • Acting as Principal Designer and CDM Advisor on construction and refurbishment projects of varying scale and complexity.

  • Providing clear, practical and commercially-minded advice on CDM 2015 compliance and wider health and safety matters.

  • Reviewing design information and identifying foreseeable risks throughout the design process.

  • Facilitating communication between clients, designers and contractors to ensure health and safety risks are effectively managed.

  • Undertaking site inspections, audits and compliance reviews.

  • Producing and reviewing key CDM documentation and project records.

  • Building strong relationships with existing clients and identifying opportunities to support wider service delivery.

  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.

  • Contributing to business development activities and helping to strengthen Hollis' presence within the market

Your profile:

We're interested in speaking with experienced Health & Safety and CDM professionals who are confident managing projects independently and building trusted relationships with clients and project teams.

You'll ideally have:

  • Strong experience within a CDM, Principal Designer or Health & Safety consultancy role working in the real estate/built environment

  • Strong working knowledge of the CDM Regulations 2015 and their practical application.

  • Experience delivering Principal Designer duties on commercial construction projects.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • The ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent).

  • Membership of IOSH and/or APS, or working towards a recognised professional accreditation.

  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required

Our preference is to recruit directly wherever possible. Should this role be approved for support from external recruitment partners, we will contact our PSL agencies accordingly.

Please note that we do not accept unsolicited CVs from agencies. Effective introduction of a candidate will only be accepted if it has been requested to submit CV’s in relation to a specific vacancy. Any speculative submissions will not incur a fee. For any queries, kindly reach out to the appropriate Talent Acquisition team member.
