Role Purpose

The Talent Acquisition Partner – Transport & Warehouse Weekly Colleagues is a strategic and operational lead responsible for overseeing DPD’s high-volume operational and flexible workforce solutions. This role ensures that DPD’s nationwide network of depots and hub operations are consistently and compliantly staffed, particularly during peak seasonal surges. By managing key recruitment partnerships, optimising recruitment spend, and driving strict compliance, this role directly protects DPD's operational efficiency and brand reputation. Working closely with the senior business leaders and the wider HR team, the postholder will develop proactive talent pipelines, improve hiring capability, enhance candidate experience, and support the organisation’s long-term growth and workforce objectives.

Key Responsibilities 

Strategic Workforce Planning

  • Collaborate with Senior Operational Leaders to forecast workforce requirements based on volume projections.

  • Design, implement, and execute the annual "Peak Season" staffing strategy to ensure uninterrupted delivery operations during high-volume periods.

  • Identify market trends, labour shortages, and any wage pressures, proactively adjusting the sourcing strategy to mitigate risks.

  • Working in partnership with the Agency Partnership team to drive an efficient temporary to permanent recruitment experience, minimising any business compliance and risks

Employer Brand & Attraction Campaigns as required

  • Partner with key stakeholders to build a clear proposition for Drivers within DPD, which builds into our training capability and market differentiation

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the DPD employer brand strategy.

  • Partner with Marketing and Communications teams to enhance the organisation’s external talent proposition.

  • Support attraction campaigns across social media, digital channels, careers events, and industry partnerships.

  • Promote the company as an employer of choice within the logistics and supply chain sector.

Compliance, Audit & Risk Mitigation

  • Ensure 100% compliance across all workforce recruitment streams regarding Right to Work (RTW), HMRC guidelines, and relevant employment legislation.

  • Establish and oversee robust, continuous audit frameworks for recruitment processes, vetting procedures, and health & safety inductions.

Data Analytics & Cost Optimisation

  • Track, analyse, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) including time-to-fill, fulfillment percentage, recruitment spend, tenure, and retention rates.

  • Leverage Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and recruitment data to identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies.

  • Provide regular workforce insights and cost-benefit analyses to the Executive Leadership Team.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across Operations

  • Provide expert search market and sector insight, and hiring recommendations.

  • Challenge and influence stakeholders to ensure effective and inclusive hiring decisions

  • Champion inclusive recruitment practices and support diversity hiring objectives.

  • Ensure all recruitment activity complies with UK employment legislation and company policy.

  • Support fair, consistent, and values-led assessment and selection processes.

Key Relationships

Internal : Functional Directors and Senior Leaders, HR Partners, Admin & Systems, Talent, Learning & Development, Marketing & Communications

External: Agency Partners, System Providers, Assessment Partners, Sector Network Partnerships

Essential Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Talent Acquisition or Recruitment Management, with a heavy focus on high-volume operational workforce solutions.

  • Prior experience in logistics, supply chain, warehousing, or retail/distribution environments is highly desirable.

  • Deep understanding of UK employment law relating to recruitment, Right to Work, and the Working Time Directive.

  • Advanced proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), recruitment platforms, and data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, Excel).

Qualifications 

● CIPD qualification or equivalent experience desirable 

● Educated to degree level or equivalent experience preferred 

● Assessment Practitioner - BPS Level A/B, Saville WAVE, Hogan

Salary: Up to £51,100K DOE plus benefits
