Job description

Integrity Education Solutions are supporting a leading specialist education and care organisation with the appointment of an experienced HR Manager to support its Colleges division.

This is an excellent opportunity for a pragmatic, commercially focused HR professional to take ownership of a broad operational HR remit and provide trusted advice to managers and senior stakeholders across a specialist education environment.

Working closely with the HR Business Partner and Director of HR and Resourcing, the HR Manager will support the delivery of the People Plan and ensure HR practice enables the organisation to operate effectively, safely and compliantly.

The successful candidate will play a key role in employee relations, organisational change, recruitment, HR projects, management information, compliance and continuous improvement, while providing confident and practical guidance to managers across the division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide pragmatic, consistent and commercially focused HR advice to line managers across a broad range of employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, performance and attendance.
  • Manage complex employee relations cases from beginning to resolution, escalating particularly sensitive, high-risk or strategic matters appropriately.
  • Review investigation reports and HR documentation, ensuring appropriate evidence and processes are in place.
  • Maintain oversight of divisional HR casework, identifying emerging risks, trends, timescales and areas requiring intervention.
  • Coach and develop line managers to manage people matters confidently and apply HR policies and procedures consistently.
  • Support end-to-end recruitment activity, campaigns and recruitment events across the Colleges division.
  • Support organisational change programmes, including TUPE transfers, restructuring and reorganisations.
  • Lead and contribute to HR projects, integrations and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure effective implementation of HR policies, employment legislation and compliance requirements, identifying and addressing potential organisational risk.
  • Produce and analyse HR management information, identifying trends and recurring issues and recommending appropriate action.
  • Lead HR inductions, manager clinics and training, identifying opportunities for further management development.
  • Build effective relationships with operational managers, senior stakeholders, external advisers and the wider HR and People teams, deputising for the HR Business Partner when required.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be an experienced HR professional with a strong operational background and proven employee relations expertise.

They will be expected to demonstrate:

  • Strong experience providing HR advice and guidance to managers.
  • Proven experience managing complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance matters.
  • Sound knowledge of employment legislation, HR policies and good practice.
  • Experience coaching and developing line managers to improve their people-management capability.
  • Experience supporting organisational change, restructuring or TUPE would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use HR management information to identify trends and risks.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused and commercially aware approach.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and sensitive casework effectively.
  • The confidence to work independently while knowing when to escalate complex or high-risk matters.

Why Apply?

The role offers the opportunity to join a specialist organisation where HR has a direct impact on the experience and outcomes of the people supported across its services. The organisation promotes a culture that is supportive, ambitious, loyal, unique, transparent, engaging and meaningful, with a strong emphasis on helping its people reach their full potential.

Employees also benefit from a broad package of support, including:

  • 24/7 Employee Assistance and mental health support.
  • Online GP access and Health Cash Plan.
  • Cancer Cover and menopause support.
  • Wagestream and financial wellbeing support.
  • Life Assurance.
  • Cycle to Work and gym discount schemes.
  • Access to National Trust activities and other wellbeing benefits.

Salary: 40,000 - 45,000
