Construction QA/QC Engineer

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Construction QA/QC Engineer for a contract position with a Leading Technology Firm located in Montgomery, AL. This is a 12 month contract opportunity.

This role is responsible for the development and oversight of quality assurance and quality control programs for mission-critical data center construction projects. The ideal candidate will analyze quality metrics, develop QA/QC processes, and interface between design, construction, and facility operations teams to ensure compliance and project performance.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and monitor quality program metrics to evaluate project performance
• Analyze metrics to understand the root cause of any disconcerting trends and work with applicable parties to correct items
• Assist with the development of the on-site partner's construction QA and QC team
• Assist with the development of QA/QC processes and standards to enable efficiency and effectiveness
• Interface between design, construction, safety, and facility operations as well as general contractor(s)
• Provide training to personnel regarding quality procedures and specific responsibilities in the QA/QC process
• Coordinate quality issues between design, construction, and facility operations teams
• Audit QA/QC activities of staff and subcontractors to assess conformance with QA/QC procedures
• Examine all submittals (particularly mechanical, electrical, Controls, and plumbing) for quality assurance
• Perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements
• Develop, review, and approve quality documentation such as construction quality procedures, testing matrices, and checklists
• Recommend and verify the effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions
• Review commissioning agent level four (4) and five (5) commissioning scripts and provide feedback
• Assist the construction manager in the review of turnover documentation packages for completeness and accuracy
• Attend factory witness tests (FWTs) as required for equipment and systems

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in quality control & quality assurance (QA/QC) programs for data centers or mission-critical construction projects
• Experience with Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build construction programs
• Experience in civil/structural, building envelope, mechanical, electrical, and I&C disciplines
• Experience leading QA/QC and Commissioning (Cx) programs
• Experience in contractor, consultant, and vendor management
• Experience in mission-critical power and cooling infrastructure or other critical systems
• MAP skillset

Desired skills:

• Previous data center experience
• Experience with CSLA disciplines
• Experience on the build side of projects

Pay range: up to $105.27 per hour
