Pay Range: $45-55/hour W2

Job Description


We are seeking an experienced Accountant II to support all accounting functions related to GCD-Content Licensing contracts. The role requires strong experience with sub-systems, general ledgers, and revenue recognition, and a proven ability to interpret complex license agreements, execute period close activities, and deliver accurate reporting and reconciliations.


Responsibilities:



  • Analyze and report on GCD license agreements, including license fee calculations and payment terms per contract.

  • Execute month-end and quarter-end close, including revenue recognition and Trial Balance reconciliations.

  • Analyze and explain monthly Foreign Exchange variances and performance versus Forecast/Plan.

  • Perform Present Value analysis, inter/intra company and related-party reporting, and quarterly Bad Debt analysis.

  • Complete monthly Clearing Account/BITIN Cash reconciliations and track and report Revenue Share deals.

  • Support GAAP/statutory audits and ensure SOX and key controls are met monthly.

  • Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger and deliver ad hoc reporting and analysis.

  • Work overtime as needed to meet deadlines.


Sub-System (PRISM/TVR) Responsibilities:



  • Review new contracts and change orders in PRISM to validate accuracy of financial data entered by Deal Management.

  • Review PRISM-generated accounting transactions to ensure accurate monthly reporting.

  • Maintain Pay TV expression deals in PRISM, update client-reported subscribers, and resolve issues.

  • Partner with IT to develop, test, and implement new Pay TV expression deals per contractual terms.

  • Conduct revenue reviews and analyses, including Stagger, Non-Delivery, Straight-Line analysis of DSTAR revenues, Renewal (Back-to-Back) license fees, and Cash in Advance.


Non-GCD Responsibilities:



  • Manage Entitlements journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.

  • Perform Non-Theatrical (TDS) reconciliations and reporting.

  • Create invoices, reconcile aging, and report within the TREC sub-system.


Required Skills & Qualifications:



  • BA/BS in Finance or Accounting.

  • 3-6 years of experience in a similar accounting role.

  • Experience with accounting sub-systems and general ledgers, including PRISM, TVR, SAP, Oracle, and reporting tools such as COGNOS, BW, and SMARTVIEW.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with proficiency in MS Excel and Word.


Preferred Skills:



  • CPA or progress toward certification.

  • Entertainment industry experience.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a team-oriented environment.


Systems Environment:



  • Accounting Sub-Systems: TVR (CBS Legacy), PPC/CBS PRISM, COGNOS, TREC.

  • General Ledger: SAP (with BW and SMARTVIEW), ORACLE (CBS Legacy), ORACLE FUSION (future state).
