Role/Programme:
As a Data Science Intern, you’ll join our Data Science team in the summer. This is an exciting opportunity to kick start your career and make a meaningful impact. You will be joining us for 10 weeks (21st June - 27th August 2027). 

How You’ll Make an Impact: In this role, you will:

• You’ll work on a real data science project that matters to us, using up-to-date machine learning techniques. We can’t say what project yet, but your internship will be centred around this.

• You will work directly on projects that impact our customers and will help us prioritise the most significant improvements to our products with their convenience and trust in mind.

• Participate in building industry-proven machine learning based solutions and find opportunities to experiment with state-of-the-art algorithms.

Growth and Development:

• Mentorship/ buddy programme: We’ve a Buddy Programme for you to give you as much possible connection with people who know what you’re going through.

• Intern Insight sessions: These will be short intro presentations from various representatives of different business areas of Wise to make sure you have a chance to get to know as many teams and functions at Wise as possible

• Be part of a global intern cohort: Join a diverse group of interns across different teams and locations, connect through shared experiences, and build lasting relationships while learning and growing together at Wise!

What does it take? These things are a must:

• You are graduating in 2028 from Bachelors or Masters degree. This might be in Computer Science, Mathematics, or any other STEM subject

• Able to start a 10 week internship on the 21st of June, 2027

• Exposure to computer science and machine learning fundamentals, Python and SQL 

• Curious, keen to learn and proactive by nature

• You are open to and value feedback in order to improve

• Eligible to work in London without visa sponsorship

And any of these would be great, but aren’t essential:

• A self-started side project(s) that you are proud to talk about

• Familiarity with supervised ML

• Familiarity with supervised LLM chat and workflow automation

• Familiarity with Graphs and GNNs

• Familiarity with Apache Spark or other distributed processing frameworks

• Experience in software development
