Full time: 37.5 hours per week.

Join our dedicated research team and help shape the future of patient care.

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Trials Assistant to support the delivery of innovative clinical research studies across the Trust. Working as part of a flexible, multidisciplinary research workforce, you will contribute to studies across a range of clinical specialties, helping to advance medical knowledge and improve patient outcomes.

You will play an important role in supporting the delivery of clinical trials from study set-up through to completion. Your responsibilities will include identifying potentially eligible patients, supporting recruitment and follow-up, and assisting research teams to ensure studies are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with study protocols.

You will work closely with our research nurses and wider clinical teams, helping to ensure that patients receive appropriate support throughout their participation in research. Comprehensive, study-specific training will be provided to develop your knowledge, skills and confidence in the role.

About Our Team

Although our research activities span multiple specialties across the Trust, we work collaboratively as one team, united by our Trust values and our shared commitment to delivering high-quality, safe and effective clinical research.

We foster a supportive culture of learning, training and professional development, encouraging colleagues to share knowledge, develop their skills and continually improve the quality of care and experience we provide to research participants.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in bedside care, including recording vital signs
  • Ability to use healthcare systems to screen patients and review clinical information
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and IT skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently and flexibly
  • Enthusiasm for supporting patient recruitment in line with NIHR targets

Phlebotomy skills are desirable but not essential—training will be provided. Previous research experience is an advantage but not required, as comprehensive in-house training and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification will be offered.

Why Join Us?

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career in clinical research while making a meaningful contribution to patient care and the advancement of medical knowledge.

You will join a collaborative and supportive team, working alongside experienced research professionals and clinical colleagues across a range of specialties. With access to training, education and ongoing development, you will have the opportunity to build your skills, broaden your experience and play an active role in delivering research that has the potential to improve outcomes for patients.
