Job description

Food Packager
Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm or until done
Salary: $18 an hour

Overview:
As a Food Packager, you\'ll play a vital role in ensuring high-quality meat packaging processes are carried out efficiently and safely. Your responsibilities will include wrapping cut portions of meat, operating equipment like tenderizing and shrink wrap machines, and assembling and labeling packages. This position offers an engaging, physically active role within a respectful work environment, where your efforts directly contribute to the production of quality food products.
Required Skills:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to stand continuously for 8-10 hours
  • Capable of frequent lifting of 10-60 pounds, with occasional lifting exceeding 60 pounds
  • Comfortable working in damp, cool environments (40-45 F) with exposure to freezer temperatures
  • Flexibility to work hours based on production needs, including potential overtime
  • Successful passage of drug test and background check

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Sanitation knowledge
  • Packaging experience in a production setting

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a food production, packing, or similar physically demanding environment

Other Requirements:
  • Ability to adapt to fluctuating work hours and environment conditions
  • Willingness to work in cold, damp, and sometimes freezer environments
