We are looking for Caf Assistant for our client in Boston, MA

Job Title: Caf Assistant

Job Location: Boston, MA

Job Type: Contract

Job Overview:

Pay Range: $17.71hr - $30.84hr

Requirement/Must Have:

  • High school graduate or equivalent GED.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and the public.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematics including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to work in a coffee shop environment with varying levels of temperature and noise.
  • Ability to negotiate in a cramped workspace.
  • Ability to immerse hands in soap, rinse, and sanitizing solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and break down the coffee service area.
  • Obtain pots, utensils, food, and non-food items for the serving area prior to, during, and after service.
  • Prepare coffee, tea, and assorted beverages and arrange equipment for service.
  • Clean related equipment including coffee machines, toasters, bakery cases, bagel racks, trucks, and refrigerators using appropriate solutions.
  • Serve food items to customers while adhering to portion control and service standards.
  • Use appropriate serving utensils such as knives, spoons, spatulas, tissue, and wax paper.
  • Maintain adequate supply of food items in refrigerators, bakery cases, and bagel racks.
  • Maintain adequate supply of non-food items in cabinets and under counters and alert management when supplies are low.
  • Observe safety, proper food handling, storage, and food temperature control procedures following established standards.
  • Cut, tray, and transport food items from the bake shop and manage storage or disposal of leftovers.
  • Clean preparation areas by washing walls, counters, ceilings, doors, windows, and signs using cleaning solutions.
  • Receive, replenish, and store supply items such as coffee cases, paper goods, and beverage cases in appropriate locations.
  • Assist customers in a courteous and helpful manner and promote food sales.
  • Respond to changes in service and guide fellow employees to adjust with changes of menu and service.
  • Accurately ring in all food purchased by retail customers.
  • Accurately debit cost centers, fund numbers, or plates for credit meals.
  • Follow established procedures to ensure correct cashing and receiving of cash.
  • Document errors in cashing procedures according to policy.
  • Follow all policies and procedures as described in the cashier manual.
  • Sweep and mop floors and clean equipment using appropriate cleaners.

Physical Requirements(Due to nature of job, The candidate must have):

  • Ability to stand for 100% of the workday.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift weights averaging 10 lbs.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.
  • Ability to push and pull carts averaging 40 lbs.
