UX Engineer

Job Title: UX Engineer

Location: Albany, NY (Hybrid) - (telecommuting negotiable)

We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Consulting with stakeholders to understand business goals.
• Helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution, as part of a team of problem solvers.
• Designing, developing and implementing both client and internal facing applications and providing technology tools that help drive NYS strategic initiatives.
• Using enterprise architecture across application areas to build delivery models that map capabilities to business needs outlined by NYS.
• Using multiple sources of information including broader stakeholder views to develop solutions and recommendations.
• Addressing defects and enhancements as part of the application support lifecycle.
• Participating in incident resolution post implementation as required.
• Creating and carrying out user research plans (i.e., surveys, interviews, focus groups, etc.), as well as explaining user research results to internal and external stakeholders.
• Planning and facilitating design thinking workshops (i.e., journey mapping, user needs modeling, etc.).
• Creating UX deliverables (i.e., user models and scenarios, sketches, user stories, user flows, wireframes, storyboards, sitemaps).
• Creating and iterating on interactive user experience prototypes that require coding.
• Planning and conducting usability testing, analyzing user feedback and activity, and iterating to improve the user experience.
• Working closely with developers to bring designs to life and iteratively improve solutions.
• Collecting quantitative and qualitative UX metrics that support usability validation.
• Assisting with content development.
• Designing for multi-device web, iOS, and Android contexts.
• Other duties as assigned.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Experience as a UX Engineer.
• Experience in UI/UX engineering on full life cycle of design deliverables including wireframes, mockups, journey maps, prototypes, story boards and user surveys.
• Experience working in an Integrated Eligibility System Program in various workstreams in a Health and Human Service setting.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or Figma.
• Experience with user research, user modeling and usability testing.
• Experience with CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript.
