Senior Associate or Counsel, Trust & Estate Litigation

About the Role

Join a growing trust and estate litigation practice as a senior attorney ready to lead complex matters and help shape the group's next chapter. You will guide case strategy, advise clients, and support the development of junior attorneys.

What You'll Do

• Lead complex trust, probate, and fiduciary litigation from case inception through resolution.

• Develop and drive case strategy in will and trust contests, fiduciary duty disputes, accounting matters, surcharge actions, and elder abuse cases.

• Build client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact.

• Supervise, delegate work to, and mentor associates on active litigation matters.

• Contribute to practice growth and help shape the group's direction and culture.

• Represent trustees, executors, administrators, beneficiaries, seniors, and their families in litigation matters.

What We're Looking For

• At least 8 years of dedicated trust and estate litigation experience, including active California litigation work.

• Strong experience with probate court matters, will and trust contests, fiduciary duty claims, accounting disputes, surcharge actions, or financial elder abuse litigation.

• Active California State Bar membership in good standing and a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

• Experience leading case strategy on complex matters and mentoring or supervising junior attorneys.

• Leadership skills, sound judgment, and interest in building a collaborative practice group; Bay Area client relationships are valued.

• Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $225,000 to $275,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

Hybrid work arrangement, with San Mateo as the primary location. Pleasanton and San Jose are also available.
