Job Description

As one of the fastest-growing and highest-rated commercial energy suppliers in the UK, we are looking to recruit a Programme Manager to join our IT team, based at our Guiseley Head office in Leeds.


The purpose of the role is to Own the delivery of the IT & BI change portfolio end to end, from a single project through to a coordinated programme of work. Provide the governance, planning, financial control and stakeholder leadership that turns the business's strategic priorities into delivered, benefit-releasing outcomes, and line-manage the Project Coordinator.

Responsibilities


Governance and assurance

●     Define and run programme and project governance: stage gates, decision forums, assurance reviews and clear reporting to the senior stakeholders and sponsors.

Planning and control

●     Own integrated planning across the portfolio: scope, milestones, dependencies, critical path and resource plans spanning in-house build (Azure DevOps), vendor and SaaS change, and COTS configuration.

Risk, issue and change management

●     Run RAID and change control, escalating and resolving anything that threatens scope, timeline, cost or quality.

Financial and resource management

●     Own budgets, cost control and forecasting, and plan and balance resources and capacity across concurrent workstreams.

Benefits and business case

●     Link delivery to business outcomes: shape the business case, and define, track and support realisation of benefits.

Stakeholders, suppliers and communications

●     Manage senior stakeholders across the business and third parties, including vendor-delivered change, contracts and SLAs, with clear communications throughout.

Leadership and team management

Line-manage and develop the Project Coordinator and lead matrixed delivery teams drawn from across IT & BI.


The Individual


Essential:

●     Governance: proven design and running of delivery governance and assurance in a complex, multi-workstream environment.

●     Planning and scheduling: integrated programme planning, dependency and critical-path management.

●     Risk, issue and change management: structured control and confident escalation.

●     Budgeting and cost control: owning budgets, forecasting and cost management across a portfolio.

●     Stakeholder and communications management: credible with senior stakeholders and external partners.

●     Resource and procurement / contract management: planning resources and managing supplier-delivered change.

●     Leadership and team management: line management and leading matrixed teams; developing people.

●     Methods and frameworks: fluent in recognised approaches (MSP, PRINCE2 or Agile) and tailoring them to context.

Desirable

●     Prior energy sector experience ie energy supplier core business as well as industry/market facing knowledge.

●     Benefits management experience linking delivery to measurable business outcomes.

Qualifications

●     APM qualification (Project Management Qualification or Project Professional Qualification), or working towards Chartered Project Professional (ChPP). MSP, PRINCE2 or Agile certification also valued.

●     Degree or equivalent professional experience.
