Job Description:
The Build Lead is responsible for leading the technical build and solution delivery activities for the UKG Pro Workforce Management deployment at Stanley Black & Decker's Allentown location. This role works closely with the Project Manager, Business Relationship Manager (BRM), Site Human Resources Leadership, Local HR/Payroll resource, and System Implementor to plan, coordinate, and deliver the project successfully. The Build Lead's primary responsibility is managing the relationship, execution, and delivery performance of the System Implementor, while ensuring the solution is designed, built, tested, and prepared for release in alignment with project requirements, architecture standards, and deployment timelines. The role is directly accountable for key ITSF deliverables across solution design, test planning, environment readiness, and release execution.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary IT lead for technical build, solution configuration, and delivery coordination for the UKG Pro Workforce Management deployment at the Allentown site.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the System Implementor, managing day-to-day relationship, delivery expectations, issue resolution, and overall execution quality.
  • Partner with the Project Manager, BRM, Site Human Resources Leadership, Local HR/Payroll resource, and System Implementor to align build activities with business requirements, project milestones, and deployment objectives.
  • Coordinate and prepare estimated project financial inputs related to Operational Support Budget and Recurring Costs Preparation.
  • Lead creation and completion of the Domain Architecture Detailed Design Document to ensure the solution design is fully documented and aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Define, coordinate, and complete the overall Test Strategy for the project.
  • Ensure the solution design is formally Reviewed and Approved for Build prior to configuration and implementation activities.
  • Confirm availability and readiness of Test and Staging Environments required to support build validation and testing activities.
  • Develop and maintain the Unit Test Plan and Unit Test Cases to support technical validation of the configured solution.
  • Coordinate and maintain the overall Test Plan, including Functional, Performance, Regression, System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Oversee execution and documentation of Unit Test Results to confirm solution quality and readiness for broader testing phases.
  • Coordinate development and completion of SIT Test Cases in support of end-to-end process validation.
  • Track, validate, and document Functional, Regression, and Integration Test Results to ensure defects are addressed and exit criteria are met.
  • Lead planning and validation of Solution Release Cutover Results to support a controlled and successful deployment.
  • Ensure technical deliverables from the System Implementor are completed on time, meet quality expectations, and align with approved design and business requirements.
  • Manage technical dependencies, risks, defects, and escalations related to the build and testing lifecycle.
  • Facilitate communication across technical and business stakeholders to ensure transparency on build progress, environment readiness, testing outcomes, and release preparedness.
  • Support transition from build to deployment by ensuring technical readiness, documentation completeness, and operational handoff requirements are met.
  • Ensure all assigned ITSF deliverables are completed accurately, on schedule, and in compliance with project governance and enterprise standards.
