IT Support Technician | Spokane, WA (Locals) - Only W2 | (GC)/(USC)

Job Title: IT Support Specialist – Part-Time Contract
Location: Spokane, WA – Must live within approximately 30 minutes of Hillyard
Work Mode: Mostly Remote; Onsite as needed

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide remote and onsite IT support for hardware, software, network, and account issues.
• Support both Windows PCs and Mac systems.
• Manage Microsoft 365 users, licenses, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Exchange Online.
• Handle staff onboarding/offboarding, accounts, devices, and permissions.
• Support website/domain migration from GoDaddy or similar providers.
• Manage DNS changes and email records including MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
• Implement endpoint security, email security, backups, MFA, password management, and access controls.
• Maintain hardware, software, license, and account inventory.
• Document IT activities and provide support to non-technical staff.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of IT support experience with small businesses, nonprofits, or public-sector organizations.
• Hands-on Microsoft 365 administration experience.
• Experience with at least one domain/website hosting migration involving DNS and email records.
• Experience with endpoint security, email security, and backup solutions.
• Comfortable supporting both Windows and macOS.
• Strong communication skills with non-technical users.
• Must be available by phone/email during business hours for urgent issues.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• 2–3 professional IT support references required.

Preferred:

• Public-sector/Washington agency experience.
• GoDaddy, Cloudflare, or similar registrar/DNS experience.
• Microsoft Defender, Intune, 1Password, or Bitwarden.
• CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft 365 Administrator (MS-102).
• Existing small IT practice with a WA business license.
