Job Description

Role summary As a Security Engineer you will be on the front lines, supporting in translating the magic of Google Cloud into mission-critical solutions. Your primary focus will be on delivering tailored technical solutions that accelerate digital transformation across regulated market segments.

This role requires a unique blend of deep technical expertise in cloud security and infrastructure, combined with an understanding of public sector security compliance frameworks and mission needs. You will act as the go-to technical expert for difficult security problems, driving security outcomes and independently owning projects from design to launch to support the customer's mission.

Job responsibilities

● Disambiguate, break down, and drive solutions to security problems, navigating cross-functional challenges with minimal oversight.

● Manage and deliver engineering projects, ensuring productive engagement with stakeholders and adherence to project scope, timelines, and metrics.

● Design and deliver novel, scalable security solutions and custom assets, e.g., production code, sample code, best practices, etc. that reduces risks and satisfies or exceeds complex customer objectives.

● Define and drive long-term security strategies, multi-year roadmaps, and visions for complex, ambiguous technical problems.

● Evaluate complex security risks, contribute to policy definitions, and lead the full solution lifecycle from development strategy and testing to launch.

Qualifications

● 5 years of experience with large-scale system architecture, distributed paradigms, and global infrastructure deployment e.g., operating system administration, software-defined network configuration, identity and access management, Kubernetes.

● 2 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols.

● 5 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.

● Possess an active US Government Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance (if required by the customer, potential Counter Intelligence (CI) or Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) may also be required). Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

● Ability to travel up to 25% domestically.

Characteristics

● Experience in security assessments, security design reviews, or threat modeling.

● Proven ability to secure products on Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure and using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
