We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Team Leader to join our chilled distribution operation based in Nottingham.  This is a hands-on role where you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the warehouse, motivate colleagues and ensure productivity, loading accuracy and service standards consistently meet customer and company expectations.

The role is based in a chilled warehouse environment, so you will need to be comfortable working in temperatures between 2 and 4 degrees.

Shift Pattern

This is a full-time, permanent position working 3 on 3 off between 06:00 - 18:00. 

Salary - £32581.26

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead and motivate the warehouse team, maintaining high standards of discipline, productivity, accuracy and performance.
  • Deliver daily operational targets, including despatch deadlines, delivery requirements, loading accuracy and agreed KPIs.
  • Coordinate training and compliance, ensuring colleagues remain qualified in loading procedures, FLT, PPT and manual handling, with retraining arranged when required.
  • Champion health and safety by enforcing procedures, reporting hazards, incidents, accidents and near misses, and ensuring defective MHE is isolated and reported correctly.
  • Maintain quality and hygiene standards, including housekeeping, inbound trailer temperature checks and compliance with BRC and HACCP processes.
  • Control warehouse activity by following outbound load plans, escalating issues promptly and identifying improvements that reduce errors and increase productivity.
  • Manage day-to-day people matters, including holiday approvals, shift cover, timekeeping, absence monitoring, timesheets, conduct and performance concerns.
  • Build effective working relationships with operations, HR, other departments and sites to support a joined-up, efficient service.

What we're looking for:

  • Previous warehouse experience, ideally within a fast-paced operation. Experience in chilled environment is advantageous
  • Previous team leader or supervisory experience in a similar environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to share information clearly and confidently.
  • Able to prioritise workloads effectively and meet deadlines in a busy operational environment.
  • MHE / PPT licence or experience is advantageous
  • A proven ability to motivate teams and help deliver or exceed targets and KPIs.
  • Confident using IT systems and standard computer applications.
  • Professional, approachable and supportive in the way you work with others.
