Your Impact  

As a Design Manager based in AT-India-HQ in Mumbai, you will report to the Sr. Director, Design and work closely with various teams and leadership team across India & Sydney, Singapore team. 

  • Support large-scale data centre design projects from concept through detailed design phases and support AirTrunk stakeholders throughout the project life cycle. 
  • Drive innovation and efficiency in design to support rapid expansion and sustainability goals.  
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver world-class hyperscale solutions. 

 

What you’ll do 

  • Develop and manage concept, schematic, and detailed design phases for hyperscale data centres inhouse or get it done through consultants. Get it reviewed through peer review consultants or principal engineering SMEs.     
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure design integrity and compliance. 
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the design team.  
  • Ensure projects meet AirTrunk and Customer minimum requirements, cost, schedule, and quality objectives. 
  • Present weekly progress reports and highlight support required and milestones completed to ensure design gets completed effectively in terms of cost effectiveness, modularity, technical compliance/feasibility to wider customers via standardization.   

What you’ll bring  

  • Strong basics & knowledge, understanding and analytical skills in any specialization of Electrical / Mechanical-HVAC / IBMS / Civil-Architectural / Structural engineering. 
  • 7-10 years of experience in engineering and design, preferably in large-scale infrastructure or data centres buildings and campus for entire life cycle of project. 
  • Strong expertise in Datacentre systems, including UPS, generators, switchgear, chillers, cooling towers, CDUs, fire suppression, structured cabling, Core & shell of building structural steel/Precast building design, Master planning.  
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical / Mechanical-HVAC / IBMS / Civil-Architectural / Structural engineering).  
  • Experience in reading customer RFP, understanding it, responding it & implementing in design and discuss with customer on technical front. 
  • Proven ability to support complex design projects and manage multiple stakeholders.  
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills – a true team player. 
  • Electrical Engineering with EHV experience & LV distribution for various customer’s design will be added advantage.  
  • Earlier experience worked as a Design Manager in consultancy or client side will be added advantage.  
  • Knowledge and good understanding of area of specialization, principles and practices within Discipline. Bonus to have knowledge on both disciplines or more. 
  • Electrical/Mechanical/Civil-Structural or building services Engineering degree would be advantageous. 
  • Collaborative, able to work with fellow engineers.
