Job Description

Role : Mainframe Developer
Location: Trenton, NJ – Hybrid (2 Days Onsite, 3 Days Remote)
Duration: 10+ Months
Local Candidates Only

We are seeking a Mainframe Developer with strong hands-on experience supporting enterprise applications in a COBOL/mainframe environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze business and system requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Develop and maintain applications using COBOL, CICS, DB2, and JCL
  • Perform coding, unit testing, system testing, debugging, and production support
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications and documentation
  • Support database conversion and legacy modernization initiatives
  • Collaborate with business users, developers, and technical teams
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application and production issues

Required Skills

  • 5+ years COBOL coding, testing, and debugging
  • 5+ years IBM OS/JCL (MVS)
  • 5+ years CICS development, testing, and debugging
  • 5+ years IBM DB2 development, testing, and debugging
  • Experience with stored procedures
  • Strong experience with testing, debugging, and production support
  • Experience creating technical and user documentation
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical education

Preferred Skills

  • IDMS to DB2 conversion
  • IDMS/DC to CICS conversion
  • Information Builders FOCUS
  • Government or judicial systems experience
  • Legacy system modernization and database migration experience
