Software Engineer III (C#, .NET Core)

AVA Consulting is seeking a Software Engineer III – (C#, .NET Core)

Description:

·         The team at client is responsible for Catalog and Order systems that power marketplace and internal teams’ tooling. Data is shared through messaging buses in Kafka, data processing pipelines, and REST APIs hosted in AWS.  These include various catalog APIs and Kafka topics to facilitate data sharing when updates occur, and web applications used by our Catalog Operations team to manage growing collection of collectibles and hobby product information. They are ramping up development on new architectures and evolving systems, and are excited to grow the team further!

What you will accomplish: 

·         You will help design and implement backend services (including microservices, datastores, APIs, and event streams) that will support our next-generation listings, inventory, and price points systems (Client is using C#, .NET Core, Docker, and Kubernetes in AWS)

·         Ensure that backend systems are highly performant and scalable to accommodate an ever growing amount of data and load

·         Work closely with internal teams integrating with backend systems and ship iterative improvements based on requirements and feedback

·         Further decouple systems from an existing monolithic application
 

What you will bring: 

·         Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field, or equivalent experience

·         5+ years of software development experience

·         Experience with large-scale microservice application development, including experience with decomposing monolithic applications

·         Experience working with C# 

·         Solid working knowledge of at least one of our datastore technologies including both RDBMS (PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis)

·         A ship-often mindset and ability to break down requirements into components that can be released rapidly

·         Experience with the following technologies will help a candidate succeed but are not required: Kafka, Terraform, Helm, GitHub Actions, REST, CI/CD
