Lead Firewall Engineer | Lorton, VA, United States | On-site | $131,300.00 - $237,350.00

They are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Firewall Engineer to enhance network security and lead a technical team on a significant program. The Role
• Design, implement, and manage complex firewall solutions (Cisco ASA/Firepower, Juniper SRX, Palo Alto).
• Monitor firewall performance, analyze security logs, and mitigate potential threats.
• Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
• Lead and mentor personnel supporting the Firewall Task Area, serving as the primary focal point for all related tasks and projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional IT, Security, and Network teams to integrate firewall solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network and firewall-related issues and maintain firewall configurations.
What You'll Need
• Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of directly relevant experience, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of firewall experience within a DoD environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge in leading a Firewall Team and implementing perimeter and internal firewalls (physical and virtual).
• Advanced experience managing baseline configurations across numerous firewalls and evaluating rules for optimal security.
• Active DoD Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
• DoD 8570 IAT II or higher certification and a Juniper, Cisco, or Palo Alto certification.
