Job Description

We are seeking a Controls Engineer with strong Ignition SCADA experience to join a growing team supporting industrial water and wastewater facilities throughout the Nashville area. This is a hands-on, field-focused role where you''ll be responsible for bringing automation systems online, supporting commissioning activities, and ensuring facilities are fully operational.

  • Lead and support startup and commissioning activities for PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.
  • Execute system cutovers with minimal impact to plant operations.
  • Perform on-site troubleshooting of controls, instrumentation, and automation systems.
  • Conduct QA/QC validation to ensure systems meet design specifications and operational requirements.
  • Verify PLC and HMI points, I/O mapping, alarms, indications, communications, and overall functionality.
  • Test and validate control sequences, interlocks, and field devices before system turnover.
  • Support the successful startup of wastewater utility systems and ensure facilities are fully operational.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Controls Engineering experience in industrial automation.
  • Hands-on experience with Ignition SCADA development, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC programming and industrial control systems (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell preferred).
  • Experience with startup, commissioning, FAT/SAT, and system cutovers.
  • Ability to troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, and industrial networks.
  • Experience validating PLC/HMI functionality, alarms, trends, and communications.
  • Familiarity with QA/QC processes for industrial automation projects.
  • Water/wastewater experience is highly preferred, but candidates from other industrial manufacturing or process automation environments are encouraged to apply.
