Job Description

Working in a collaborative and commercially focused environment, you'll support the pricing of treaty and facultative reinsurance business across a diverse portfolio, providing insight and analytics that influence underwriting decisions and portfolio strategy.

The Role
  • Perform pricing analyses for a wide range of reinsurance opportunities across multiple classes and territories.
  • Partner closely with underwriting teams to assess new business opportunities and renewal submissions.
  • Develop, maintain and enhance reinsurance pricing models and methodologies.
  • Analyse portfolio performance, rate adequacy and profitability trends.
  • Provide technical expertise and commercial insight to support underwriting decisions.
  • Present pricing recommendations and findings to key stakeholders across the business.
  • Support wider portfolio optimisation, capital management and strategic initiatives.
  • Contribute to pricing research, process improvements and the development of analytical capabilities within the team.
  • Mentor and support junior analysts, helping to foster technical development across the function.
About You
  • Nearly qualified, qualified or qualified-by-experience actuary.
  • Previous experience in reinsurance pricing within the London Market, Lloyd's or wider general insurance sector.
  • Strong understanding of treaty and/or facultative reinsurance business.
  • Experience working with actuarial modelling techniques and large datasets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to balance technical analysis with practical underwriting considerations.
  • Confident communicator who can build relationships with underwriters, brokers and senior stakeholders.
  • Experience with tools such as R, Python, SQL or similar analytical platforms would be advantageous.
