Job Description

Urgent requirement for an IT Digital Asset & Configuration Specialist - Contract - Sydney.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

1. IT Digital Asset Lifecycle Management
  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of IT assets, including planning, procurement, deployment, maintenance, and retirement.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for asset tracking, compliance, and financial management.
  • Ensure alignment with IT governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) policies.
  • Ensure CIs are accurately identified, classified, and registered in the CMDB.
  • Maintain and improve CMDB data quality, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with governance standards.
  • Define and enforce policies for CI relationships, dependencies, and version control.
3. Process Improvements & Automation
  • Identify and implement opportunities for automation in asset and configuration management to enhance efficiency.
  • Work with IT teams to streamline change management and incident response through better configuration data.
  • Continuously refine IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Configuration Management (ITCM) processes to improve visibility and control.
  • Conduct regular CMDB audits to detect inconsistencies, missing records, and compliance gaps.
  • Implement data validation and reconciliation mechanisms to ensure ongoing CMDB accuracy.
  • Work closely with IT security and compliance teams to support audit requirements and regulatory adherence.
5. Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Analyse large sets of asset and configuration data to derive insights and drive decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports on key asset and configuration KPIs, such as asset utilization, compliance, and service levels (CSLs).
  • Provide actionable insights to optimise IT asset usage, reduce costs, and improve service reliability.

Capabilities Technical & Functional Competencies

  • Strong expertise in IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Configuration Management (ITCM) best practices.
  • Deep knowledge of CMDB structures, CI relationships, and IT service dependencies.
  • Experience with ServiceNow CMDB, ITSM platforms, and asset management tools.
  • Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to work with large datasets using ServiceNow PA, Power BI, or other reporting tools.
  • Understanding of automation tools and scripting to streamline asset tracking and configuration processes.
  • Knowledge of ITIL frameworks, governance standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Ability to lead process improvement initiatives and drive automation adoption.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams to align asset and configuration management with business goals.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to risk management and operational efficiency.

Duration: 06 Months and possible extension
