Senior Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Project Engineer

Pay Range: $130000 - $140000/annum. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:

• Instrumentation: Select and specify pressure, temperature, flow, and level sensors, analyzers, control valves, and actuators.
• Automation & Controls: Manage PLCs, HMIs, remote I/O, industrial networks, alarms, interlocks, and shutdown systems.
• Engineering Design: Review P&IDs, instrument data sheets, I/O lists, loop diagrams, and control narratives.
• Project Leadership: Coordinate EPC contractors, system integrators, vendors, and internal engineering teams.
• Electrical Coordination: Handle basic electrical interfaces involving control panels, MCCs, VFDs, power supplies, and grounding.
• Testing & Commissioning: Oversee FAT, SAT, instrument calibration, loop checks, functional testing, and startup.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure designs meet applicable ISA, NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and hazardous-area requirements.
  

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Skills- Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, process instruments, control valves, and industrial networks.
• Ability to review P&IDs, I/O lists, loop diagrams, and control-system designs.
• Experience coordinating EPC firms, contractors, vendors, and system integrators.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Instrumentation, Controls Engineering, or a related discipline from an ABET-accredited program.
• 7+ years of instrumentation and controls experience in industrial or process industries.
• Experience leading, I&C projects from engineering through commissioning and startup.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, process instruments, control valves, and industrial networks.
• Ability to review P&IDs, I/O lists, loop diagrams, and control-system designs.
• Experience coordinating EPC firms, contractors, vendors, and system integrators.
• Basic knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including MCCs and VFDs.
