Job Description

Utah Transit Authority seeks a Human Resources and Labor Relations Administrator to support a safety-focused, unionized transit workforce. In this role you administer HR programs, interpret and apply labor agreements, support grievance and disciplinary processes, and ensure compliance with employment laws and UTA policies. You will partner with leaders and union representatives on employee relations, investigations, and performance management, maintain accurate HRIS and records, and prepare reports. You'll help deliver fair, consistent HR practices that support reliable, customer-oriented transit service along the Wasatch Front.

Responsibilities

  • Administer HR policies, procedures, and programs for a unionized transit workforce
  • Interpret and apply collective bargaining agreements in daily HR decisions
  • Support grievance, disciplinary, and conflict-resolution processes
  • Advise leaders on employee relations, performance management, and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with labor and employment laws and UTA policies
  • Maintain accurate HRIS data, personnel files, and labor relations records
  • Conduct or support workplace investigations and prepare thorough reports
  • Prepare HR and labor relations metrics and analysis for leadership
  • Coordinate and deliver training on HR policies and labor agreement provisions
  • Collaborate with union representatives to support constructive labor-management relations
