Job Description

Job Profile Summary

Responsible for providing support to the Underwriting team especially to interpret, prepare and analyse underwriting data to provide comprehensive modelling information to support the underwriting process

Job Description

  1. Supporting Class and other Underwriters in all aspects of the underwriting and management of the account
  2. Coordination and quality control with Risk Admin
  3. Modelling of PV risks
  4. Liaison with Credit control department
  5. Preparation and monitoring of peer review meetings
  6. Maintenance of risk history involving organisation and filing
  7. Assisting with special projects
  8. Keeping aggregate exposure records
  9. Preparation of statistics
  10. Assisting other PV Class underwriters as appropriate.
  11. Assisting the PV Unit Head with management data monitoring.

Regulatory Responsibilities

Comply with all policies and procedures and ensure that due regard is paid to providing good customer outcomes and the fair treatment of customers.

Manage the relationships with Customers, Agents and Service Providers:

  1. Advise, assist and service customers on insurance and risk matters to promote customers’ satisfaction
  2. Foster positive relationships with customers and attain an understanding of their needs
  3. Ensure that customer complaints are promptly identified, recorded and referred as appropriate
  4. Complete all required annual product review assessments to agreed timescales with approvals obtained and recorded
  5. Follow all Chaucer Group Product Governance processes in the UCM and obtain appropriate approvals
  6. Ensure that the principles of providing good customer outcomes and the fair treatment of customers are upheld by Agents and Service Providers.

Skills and Competencies

  1. Lloyd’s Market Box / Syndicate Experience
  2. Other insurance experience
  3. Mathematics, Data and Analytical Skills
  4. Intermediate Excel, Charms and Charisma
  5. Understanding of the risks being taken
  6. Able to communicate with different levels and is adaptable
  7. Works as part of a team

Education

  1. Fully or almost qualified ACII qualification - job holders will be expected to achieve Associateship in a reasonable period of time
