Hadoop Administrator

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (Onsite)

Role Overview

This role is situated within the Enterprise Data Platform - Capacity Management Team. The position is responsible for analytics, executive reporting, and providing operational insights to support capacity planning and financial governance. The candidate will monitor and resolve issues related to HDFS and Ozone, investigate cluster performance, and manage storage utilization.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and resolve HDFS and Ozone related issues.
• Investigate cluster performance, storage utilization, and capacity-related concerns.
• Manage quota requests, storage allocation, and capacity planning activities.
• Support application onboarding and data platform integration activities.
• Coordinate with application teams during incident resolution and problem management.
• Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles.

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills:

• Experience with Hadoop ecosystem technologies, including HDFS, Hive, Spark, and Ozone.
• Proficiency in Hive Metastore management and table/partition maintenance.
• Experience supporting large-scale data warehouse environments on Hadoop.
• Knowledge of data ingestion, ETL processes, and data validation.
• Competency in shell scripting and Python for automation.
• Experience with Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) or similar Hadoop distributions.
• SQL and data analytics skills.
• Expertise in JIRA, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio.

• Demonstrated expertise in executive reporting and storytelling.
• Organizational skills with analytical and critical thinking abilities.
• Experience leveraging AI and automation tools to improve efficiency and insights.
