Location: Jersey City, New Jersey (Hybrid)

Duration: 12 months

Role Overview

This position is a hybrid Business Analyst and Project Manager role. The candidate will perform project management activities and conduct data quality checks using internal data source systems. The role involves coordinating and overseeing the onboarding of all incoming projects into the program and ensuring compliance with governance processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee the onboarding of all incoming projects into the program.
• Ensure compliance with required governance processes, including tollgates, risk assessments, regulatory controls, change management activities, and project documentation standards.
• Provide centralized tracking, reporting, and issue management across the project portfolio.
• Monitor program health, delivery risks, dependencies, and escalation items on an ongoing basis.
• Drive consistency in governance execution and ensure projects remain aligned with organizational expectations and delivery commitments.
• Perform data quality checks using the bank's internal data source system.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, financial technology, risk management, or a related field.
• Experience querying and analyzing large datasets using SQL and relational database platforms.
• Ability to investigate, validate, reconcile, and troubleshoot complex data issues across multiple source systems.
• Experience performing data quality assessments, root cause analysis, and data lineage reviews.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data findings into actionable business insights.
• Communication skills with the ability to work effectively with business stakeholders, technology teams, and project management teams.
• Experience supporting project governance, regulatory, or risk-related initiatives within a financial services environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing automation, data extraction, and reporting solutions using Python and VB Scripting (VBScript/VBA).
• Ability to build data analysis frameworks, validation routines, reconciliation processes, and operational tooling using Python.
• Experience automating manual processes, data quality checks, exception reporting, and workflow activities through scripting.
• Proficiency with Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and OpenPyXL.
• Experience integrating database queries, file processing, and reporting workflows through automated scripts.
• Knowledge of Excel VBA/VB Scripting for developing macros, reporting tools, and process automation solutions.
• Familiarity with software development best practices, including version control, code reviews, testing, and documentation.
• Experience supporting large-scale financial, risk, or regulatory reporting environments through automation and analytics.
