Our client is one of Australia's best known consumer brands, with a large, customer focused operation and big ambitions for how it uses data. Their data team builds the products and pipelines that power smarter decisions right across the business.

What you'll be doing

As a Data Engineer you'll build robust data products and pipelines, working deeply with Databricks and taking full ownership from initial requirements all the way through to production. You won't be working in a silo. You'll partner daily with data analysts, architects and business stakeholders to solve complex problems and continuously evolve the enterprise data platform.

Design and build
  • Design and build: develop and optimise scalable Databricks pipelines with sound coding patterns, thorough testing and reliable orchestration.
  • End to end delivery: own your work from business requirements through to production.
  • Strategic problem solving: help plan what gets built next, raise risks early and bring fresh technical ideas.
  • Collaboration: work closely with analysts, architects and stakeholders in a team where shared problem solving is central.
  • Modern engineering: use AI assisted tools well, including confidently reviewing and correcting AI generated code to meet the team's standards.
You'll be great in this role if you have
  • Deep, hands on experience building enterprise scale data pipelines with Databricks, Python and SQL.
  • A proven ability to write and review clean, modular code, with strong pipeline testing and orchestration experience.
  • A strong delivery focus and a track record of taking work from concept to production.
  • A love of working in agile teams and the communication skills to explain technical concepts to the business.
  • A degree in IT, Computer Science or Engineering (or equivalent experience). Databricks or AWS certifications are highly regarded.
