The Role
• Conduct diverse naval architecture design and analysis for hovercraft, ships, and marine systems to support military and commercial clients.
• Perform Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate system performance, validate designs, and optimize for efficiency and safety.
• Collaborate with project teams, including engineers and program managers, to refine system performance and develop deliverables.
• Manage task requirements and execution timelines by developing Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms).
• Document technical findings in comprehensive reports and present results to diverse stakeholders.
What You'll Need
• Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in naval architecture, with a specific focus on CFD applications.
• Proficiency in CFD software (e.g., Star-CCM+, ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM) and FEA software (e.g., Femap, NASTRAN, ANSYS).
• Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, hydrodynamics, and maritime systems.
• Experience with CAD and 3D modeling tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and presentations.
• Ability to utilize spreadsheets/programming for design equations and validate simulation results against experimental data.
