Data Engineer with Security Clearance

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Data Engineer to support a company focused on delivering enterprise data integration, analytics, and business intelligence solutions. This position is onsite in Norfolk, VA. The Data Engineer will be responsible for ingesting, transforming, staging, aggregating, and preparing complex data sets for enterprise reporting and analytics. This is an opportunity to play a critical role in building the data infrastructure that enables data-driven decision making across the organization. Responsibilities for the Data Engineer include:

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) to ingest data from legacy systems, SQL databases, and enterprise applications.
• Analyze new and unstructured data sources to determine optimal extraction, transformation, storage, and reporting strategies.
• Perform data cleansing, transformation, staging, and aggregation to support downstream reporting and analytics initiatives.
• Develop and maintain backend data repositories and support integration with Power BI and other enterprise reporting platforms.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data quality, accessibility, security, and reporting requirements are met.

Required Qualifications for the Data Engineer include:

• 3-4 years of hands-on Data Engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), SQL databases, data pipeline development, and enterprise ETL/data integration processes.
• Experience with Power BI, data warehousing concepts, data transformation, staging, aggregation, and business intelligence reporting.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Active Security+ certification (IAT Level II) and ability to meet applicable government security requirements.

Compensation for the Data Engineer include:

• Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 depending on experience
