Senior Project Manager – 11+ Years Experience
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager with 11+ years of experience in managing complex IT/software projects from initiation through successful delivery. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in project planning, Agile/Scrum, Waterfall/Hybrid methodologies, stakeholder management, risk management, resource planning, budgeting, and delivery governance.
The candidate should be a strong leader who can work closely with clients, business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and senior leadership to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with the expected quality and business value.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end project delivery including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure.
Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and success criteria.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, resource plans, budgets, and delivery roadmaps.
Manage cross-functional teams including Developers, QA, Business Analysts, Architects, DevOps, Product Owners, and other technical teams.
Drive Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and release planning.
Manage projects using Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid methodologies based on business and project requirements.
Establish project governance, reporting mechanisms, steering committee meetings, and executive-level status reporting.
Monitor project progress against scope, schedule, budget, quality, and KPIs.
Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and change requests (RAID).
Develop mitigation and contingency plans and ensure timely resolution of critical issues and escalations.
Manage stakeholder and client relationships while maintaining clear and transparent communication.
Coordinate with senior leadership to communicate project health, challenges, dependencies, risks, and business outcomes.
Manage resource allocation, capacity planning, team performance, and project priorities.
Work closely with Product and Business teams to translate business objectives into actionable project plans and deliverables.
Manage vendor/third-party relationships, contracts, deliverables, and dependencies when required.
Ensure adherence to SDLC, quality standards, security requirements, compliance, and organizational project governance.
Track project metrics such as schedule variance, budget variance, velocity, throughput, delivery predictability, and resource utilization.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve delivery efficiency, quality, and team productivity.
Support UAT, deployment, release management, production go-live, and post-production stabilization.
Mentor Project Managers, Scrum Masters, and project team members and promote a culture of accountability and collaboration.
Required Skills & Qualifications
11+ years of overall IT experience, with strong experience in project/program management.
Proven experience managing large-scale, complex, and cross-functional technology projects.
Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and Hybrid project management methodologies.
Excellent understanding of SDLC, software development, testing, deployment, and release management.
Strong expertise in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource management, and delivery governance.
Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, MS Project, MS Excel, PowerPoint, or similar project management tools.
Strong knowledge of RAID management, dependency management, change management, issue resolution, and escalation management.
Excellent client-facing, communication, negotiation, presentation, and leadership skills.
Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience working with distributed, offshore/onshore, and multi-functional teams.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, CSM, PSM, SAFe, or equivalent certification.
Experience in large-scale digital transformation, cloud migration, application modernization, or enterprise technology programs.
Experience managing multiple projects/workstreams and complex cross-team dependencies.
Exposure to cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Experience with executive reporting, PMO governance, portfolio management, and financial tracking.
Experience with data-driven project reporting, dashboards, and modern/AI-enabled PMO practices.
