SQL Server Application DBA

Scope:

The App DBA will perform Database performance analysis, create indexes, improve queries, analyze DB plans, create and modify tables, stored procedures and other various DB development and operations needs. Will be supporting DB activities for go-lives of various web applications.

Requirements: Expertise in MS SQL 2025 or previous, Postgres, Mongo DB, Big Query and other SQL relational and non-relational databases.

Note from the manager:

• I’m looking for a ‘hot shot’ who thinks they know all things about optimizing and getting performance out of databases that have a Billion plus rows of data in them.
• I don’t need someone who can spell SQL. They should be able to write and analyze complex queries that require extensive selects and joins.
• Should be capable of using SQL Server Management Studio, Datagrip from Jet Brains, SQL Sentry from Solar Winds tools to investigate and debug database issue.

 Minimum Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of demonstrated professional IT Systems DBA experience OR Associate’s degree plus 5 years of demonstrated professional IT Systems DBA experience. A high school diploma and 7 years of demonstrated professional IT Systems DBA experience in a large, complex organization like Mayo Clinic may be considered in lieu of the degree.
