Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Business Analyst with experience in Capital Markets, Investment Banking, Trade Surveillance, and Data Analytics. The ideal candidate will combine strong business analysis expertise with technical knowledge in SQL, Java, Spring Boot, data analysis, testing, and software delivery to support large-scale surveillance and regulatory technology initiatives.

This role will partner with business stakeholders, surveillance teams, data providers, and engineering teams to develop solutions that identify market abuse, trading anomalies, and regulatory risks across multiple asset classes.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

• Lead end-to-end business analysis activities for complex data-intensive technology initiatives.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements.
• Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications, user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Facilitate workshops, requirement sessions, and stakeholder meetings.

Trade Surveillance & Regulatory Support

• Support trade surveillance platforms used to identify market manipulation, insider trading, spoofing, wash trades, and other market abuse activities.
• Analyze trade, position, and reference data to support surveillance models and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure solutions align with compliance, risk management, and regulatory controls.

Data Analysis & Technical Collaboration

• Perform complex data analysis using SQL to support investigations, reporting, and business decision-making.
• Partner with engineering teams on solution design, data models, technical specifications, and system enhancements.
• Work with internal and external data providers to ensure data quality and completeness.

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Lead QA planning, test case development, execution, and defect management activities.
• Coordinate SIT, UAT, regression testing, and validation efforts.
• Support independent validation processes and regulatory control reviews.

Agile Delivery

• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Support delivery teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Work in both Agile and Waterfall project environments.

Innovation & Analytics

• Develop prototypes, proof of concepts, and analytical models.
• Leverage GenAI tools, GitHub Copilot, and modern analytics technologies to improve requirements definition, testing efficiency, and delivery quality.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
