Senior QA Automation Engineer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX and Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role serves as a subject matter expert with deep functional and technical knowledge of assigned applications, partnering closely with Development and Product teams to ensure quality outcomes. The ideal candidate will lead and govern testing efforts, define comprehensive test strategies, and mentor junior team members while driving testing best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a subject matter expert with deep functional and technical knowledge of assigned applications
• Lead and govern testing efforts across business change initiatives
• Define and execute comprehensive test strategies, ensure appropriate coverage, and analyze results
• Mentor and coach junior team members, drive testing best practices, and champion continuous improvement
• Assess the impact of new or modified requirements on existing and new systems
• Proactively identify project bottlenecks, risks, and impediments, tracking issues to resolution
• Oversee defect management end-to-end, including identification, prioritization, and root cause analysis
• Act as the primary escalation point for testing-related issues
• Leverage enterprise testing and delivery tools such as JIRA and ALM Octane
• Provide guidance on test automation strategy and adoption
• Develop and maintain the System Test Plan, including risk assessments and test approach

Requirements:

• Demonstrated expertise in QA processes, testing standards, and delivery quality governance in complex environments
• Strong command of test planning, execution, defect management, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working within Agile or hybrid delivery models
• Experience with Selenium and Cucumber for test automation
• Proficiency with Agile tools such as Jira and Bitbucket
• Experience with Functional/Manual Testing
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a risk-based mindset
• Proven stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and business audiences
• Ability to work effectively across distributed teams and drive quality initiatives in a matrixed organization

Desired skills:

• SDM/Horizon automation
• Knowledge of IBM Connect:Direct
• Knowledge of IBM/Sterling's Sterling Integrator 5.x/6.x

Pay range: $49.37 - $57.37 per hour
