QUALITY ENGINEER

MAKITA Corporation of America, a worldwide leading producer of high-quality power tools, is seeking a Quality Engineer to become a part of our team!

Scope:

Under the direction of the Quality Management Manager, supports organizational quality objectives by ensuring product, process, and system effectiveness through quality planning, problem solving, continuous improvement, technical leadership, and personnel development.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead investigations of quality-related issues and establish effective corrective and preventive actions to eliminate root causes and improve overall peformance.
2. Develop, maintain, and improve quality systems, procedures, inspection methods, and related documentation to ensure consistent compliance with organizational requirements.
3.  Support the introduction of new products and components, process changes, and operational improvements by identifying risks, verifying requirements, and promoting effective quality planning.
4. Monitor, analyze, and report quality performance data to identify trends, prioritize improvement opportunities, and support data-driven decision making.
5. Interact with manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, service, and other departments to resolve quality concerns and promote continuous improvement throughout the organization.
6. Participate in the maintenance and continual improvement of the Makita Management System through audits, process reviews, risk evaluation, and corrective action follow-up.
7. Provide technical guidance, mentoring, training, and knowledge sharing to quality personnel and other employees as required to strengthen organizational capability, quality awareness, continuous improvement, and professional development.

Qualification:

Required:

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Experience in quality assurance, quality control, manufacturing, engineering, or a related technical field.
3. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to drive quality improvements, work effectively across functions, and support the development of others.

Preferred:

1. Quality-related certification and/or demonstrated knowledge of quality management principals is preferred.
