Job Description

Technical Support Engineer - SC & NPPV3

Inside IR35, £320 per day
Hursley (on-site) - 4 days on, 4 days off
ASAP Start - 6-month rolling

We are recruiting a Technical Support Engineer to maintain services within a secure, business-critical technology environment. The role covers incident resolution, hardware and software support, equipment maintenance, and operational quality. Applicants must be available for a rotating 12-hour day and night shift pattern.

Shift pattern: Four days on, four days off, covering 07:00-19:00 and 19:00-07:00. This role is fully site-based in Hursley and does not offer remote or hybrid working.

Role responsibilities

  • Receive, assess and resolve technical incidents, service requests and changes.
  • Manage an assigned ticket queue and complete work within agreed service levels.
  • Record accurate ticket updates and keep users informed of progress.
  • Resolve issues ranging from password resets and desktop faults to complex server queries.
  • Escalate incidents to third-line teams when additional technical input is required.
  • Build and rebuild desktop PCs and laptops using approved software images.
  • Diagnose hardware faults and install repairs, replacements and upgrades.
  • Work with third-line technical delivery, development, project and operational teams.

Key experience and requirements

  • Experience in a service desk, desktop support, infrastructure support or similar technical role.
  • Working knowledge of desktop and laptop hardware, operating systems and software deployment.
  • Experience using an IT service-management or ticketing platform.
  • Ability to investigate technical issues, identify causes and implement appropriate resolutions.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise work and manage tickets against defined service levels.
  • Experience working within structured processes and controlled technical environments.
  • Current SC and NPPV3 clearance, or eligibility to obtain both, including at least five years of continuous UK residency.
