StaffRight Associates has been engaged by an industry-leading engineering organization to identify a skilled Cloud Systems Engineer for a high-impact permanent opportunity located in McLean, Virginia. In this role, you will contribute to the ongoing evolution of advanced, mission-critical infrastructure supporting vital national security initiatives. Our partner firm boasts an exceptional four-decade legacy of stability, characterized by deep expertise in high-performance software environments, custom intelligence platforms, and secure digital architectures.

What You'll Do

• Engineer robust, cloud-native operational environments from inception through deployment, ensuring high availability and seamless performance.

• Adapt proactively to shifting mission parameters while researching, evaluating, and integrating cutting-edge technical products.

• Fortify overall system security through rigorous hardening, proactive monitoring, and compliance alignment.

• Optimize infrastructure efficiency via comprehensive performance tuning, diagnostic analysis, and automated workflows.

• Mentor team members on best practices for routine maintenance, operational readiness, and configuration management.

What You Bring

• Mid-to-Senior professional background with 7-20 Years of relevant technical experience (or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on practice).

• Bachelor's Degree in a computer-related discipline (preferred, with relevant work experience accepted as a substitute).

• Active TS Clearance or higher, with the ability to successfully obtain SCI and Polygraph clearance.

• Proficiency in Linux environments, specifically Red Hat and CentOS.

• Direct experience engineering and maintaining Cloud Native ecosystems utilizing AWS services including EC2 and VPC.

• Expertise in Enterprise Service frameworks involving Active Directory, LDAP, DNS, NIS, NFS, NAT, and FreeIPA.

• Background in System Security, hardening, and accreditation guidelines such as DCID 6/3 and ICD-503.

• Capability in provisioning automated operating systems and Cloud Infrastructure installation.

• Proficiency configuring network controls including Iptables, basic switching, routing, IP Addressing, and Multicast.

• Competency in System Performance Monitoring alongside designing and executing reliable System Backup Plans.

• Scripting capabilities in languages such as Bash, Csh, Perl, Ruby, Python, and Expect.

• Familiarity with source code control management systems including CVS, Subversion, and Git.

• Hands-on exposure to containerization and distributed storage technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, Gluster, and Ceph.

Compensation & Total Rewards

• Annual Salary Range: $120,000 - $210,000 (Full Time / Direct Hire)
