Position Summary:
The Office of Information Technology Services (OITS) is seeking an IT Helpdesk Analyst Intern to join our Service Desk team. This internship provides a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in IT customer support while contributing to the delivery of high-quality technical services for state agencies, partners, and affiliates.
As an intern, you will work alongside experienced IT professionals to support users with hardware, software, and system-related issues. You will also develop technical skills, customer service abilities, and knowledge of enterprise-level IT operations in a collaborative environment.

- Assist with responding to support requests via phone, email, or ticketing system.
- Help troubleshoot hardware and software issues on end-user devices.
- Support common applications such as Microsoft O365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive), Cisco VPN, Cisco Jabber, Adobe products, and other agency tools.
- Aid in resetting passwords, resolving login issues, and performing basic Active Directory account tasks.
- Observe and assist with imaging/reimaging devices and other onboarding/offboarding processes.
- Learn to install, configure, and update software with guidance from staff.
- Document support steps and resolutions in the helpdesk ticketing system.
- Participate in the development and updating of knowledge base articles.
- Provide basic user guidance with the support of senior staff.
Education and Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree, certification, or technical training in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- High School Diploma or GED required
Desired Skills and Traits:
- Interest in IT support and eagerness to learn in a hands-on environment.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and document activities clearly.
- Familiarity with helpdesk or ticketing systems is a plus but not required.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
